Located in a private home in Dunwoody, Heather Chlup Violin Studio L.L.C is a licensed facility that offers lessons in violin and musicianship to students of all ages and abilities by a qualified and experienced teacher.

About the Teacher

Originally from Australia, Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) degree in 1998 in music research and violin performance as a student of renowned Australian violinist & pedagogue, Elizabeth Holowell. She has 15 yrs experience in violin teaching, performing and orchestral and choral conducting and is a member of the American String Teacher’s Association. She has been a member of orchestras and chamber ensembles since her youth including the Sydney Youth Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia, the Edinburgh Philharmonic (Scotland) and the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra. Her skills and experience as an educator and performer extends to three continents (Australia, the UK and the United States).

Currently Heather is the Orchestra Director at Summit Hill and Cogburn Woods Elementary Schools in Fulton County. She also volunteers as Strings Teacher at her local Chesnut Elementary School in Dunwoody.  In addition, Heather is Conductor for the Saturday Performing Ensembles of the Music Matters After School program.

A certified elementary teacher, Heather is able to differentiate her teaching to meet the diverse learning styles of her students. As well as teaching those simply looking for the enjoyment of learning an instrument, she prepares students for school scholarship and youth orchestra auditions as well as instrumental exams (e.g. ABRSM or ASTACAP.) Students from age 5yrs and up are accommodated.

Term Dates/Rates

Lessons are payable per month and in advance. They will be scheduled during the Dekalb County School Semesters in 2011 - 2012.

Additional lessons can be scheduled during school vacations at the teacher’s discretion.

Pricing for lessons is:

$24 per half-hour lesson

$36 per 45 minutes lesson

$48 per hour lesson

Studio Policy

Students and/or parents (age applicable) are asked to sign that they have read and agreed to the terms outlined in the Studio Policy, which will be issued at the first lesson. This policy covers issues relating to:

·         Lesson re-scheduling or cancellation

·         Fee policy

·         Purchase of materials and requirements for each lesson. Please note that students’ own learning materials (ie. instrument, music, supplies, exam fees etc) are not covered by the lesson fee and must be purchased separately from retailers.

·         Studio etiquette (e.g. lateness, parking etc)

·         Examinations/studio recitals

·         Expectations for practice

·         Any other matters
